Business Developer DACH

Kraaft is hiring!

About

Kraaft is the “Super App” for construction — finally replacing WhatsApp on job sites! Our mission is simple: make life easier for millions of workers so they can finish earlier and enjoy a good barbecue or a happy hour at home. 🍔🍻

The app is incredibly easy to use: you create a chat group for each job site, share photos, documents, and updates… no training needed. You can pick it up in seconds — yes, even out in the field when it’s raining or your phone screen is cracked.

Then the magic happens: messages get organized automatically (well, almost) thanks to AI — into maps, folders, forms, or even full reports (Excel, Word). No more reporting headaches. It’s a small revolution.

On top of that, you can digitize plans, manage schedules, and report equipment issues. In short, your entire job-site life lives in one place.

Launched 6 years ago, Kraaft now has 40,000 active users, over 1,500 clients across 14 countries, and a team of 70 highly motivated people. 💪

Job Description

Why this role?

You come from the construction industry in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. You know the codes of Strabag, Hochtief, Porr, Implenia, Goldbeck, Ed. Züblin, Wolff & Müller, Bauer — you've already spent time on their sites or in their branches, and you love talking to site managers and directors alike. You have a real sales DNA, you love short cycles — and feel challenged to work for a fast-growing European SaaS company.

At Kraaft, we're the "Super WhatsApp" of construction: 40,000 active users today, 1,500 customers across 14 countries, 70 ultra-motivated people. After conquering the French market alongside NGE, Eiffage, Spie, Fayat, Bouygues, Equans, VINCI Construction and VINCI Energies, we're now accelerating in the DACH region — a market that's close to our hearts. It has already shown strong interest (40+ customers) and we've sharpened our go-to-market there!

With your industry and regional background, you'll be the engine of our growing team — and potentially the future manager, if that's what you want.

Your mission

Develop Kraaft with the major construction players in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You'll work hand in hand with Antonio (Sales Director) and the French Key Account Executives, who have already perfected the playbook on the French majors and will be there to help you transpose what works. And, of course, with the brilliant DACH team: Neville (ex-founder & salesperson in the food industry) and Sabrina (Junior AE, Austrian)!

In practice, you'll quickly own the full cycle: prospecting target accounts (priority going to the subsidiaries of our French customers), demos, negotiation, closing — then handing over to the CSMs for expansion.

Preferred Experience

To thrive in this role, you need to love…

Construction, in DACH.

  • We're looking for someone who knows the sector from the inside: you know what a Bauleiter, a Polier, and a Baustellenbesprechung are. You can hold a credible conversation with a site manager just as easily as with a Vorstand member at Bauma. Ideally, you've worked at a major (Hochtief, Strabag, Porr, Implenia, Goldbeck…) or at a player selling to them (Hilti, Caterpillar, SAP, Procore, Bauer, Liebherr…).

Sales — really.

  • You're driven by objectives, performance and money. You're not afraid to pick up the phone, to shake hands with strangers at a trade fair, or to follow up 8 times when needed. Sales isn't a comfort zone for you — it's your playground. And you do it with a contagious smile!

Field work.

  • Construction contracts aren't signed over Zoom. We expect 2 days a week on the road: agencies, sites, trade fairs (Bauma, BAU, Inter Schutz, Digital Bau…).

The politics of large groups.

  • You can picture yourself in meetings with site managers, project managers, branch directors, Vorstandsmitglieder — even CEOs! You know how to map an account, identify the right sponsors, navigate a complex organisation, and stay the course when a deal drags on for 6 months.

Full autonomy.

  • You'll see the team regularly (in the field, or in Paris when you visit), and you'll have very frequent check-ins with our national lead Antonio. But day to day, you decide: which actions to prioritise, which angle to push, which trade fair to attend. We expect you to be a true driving force!

Building, not just selling.

  • Beyond deals, you'll help shape what comes next: feeding DACH product specifics back to our Product team, making the first local hires (SDR, additional AEs, CSM) when the time comes, codifying what works for the people who join after you. You're not just a closer — you're a market opener.

What would success look like, concretely?

At 3 months

  • You've booked around 30 meetings, both with subsidiaries of our existing customers and through your own initiatives.

  • You've run around 30 demos with Bauleiter and branch managers in these companies.

  • You've signed your first DACH customer.

At 6 months

  • You've mastered the org chart of your target accounts and know who decides what.

  • You've held around 50 meetings in branches or on sites.

  • You've hit 100% of your H1 target.

At 12 months

  • You play a leadership role on your two target accounts: you know the decision-makers and you steer the Kraaft KAMs and CSMs to grow the contract.

  • You've laid the foundations of the DACH team (first local SDR, first processes, first DACH playbook).

  • Kraaft has become a known reference at at least 3 construction majors in DACH.

Who we're looking for

  • You come from the construction industry in DACH and you're comfortable navigating the politics of the German-speaking majors: Strabag, Hochtief, Porr, Implenia, Goldbeck, Ed. Züblin, Wolff & Müller, Bauer, Köster, etc.

  • You have 3+ years of experience in business development in the construction / industrial / infrastructure sector.

  • You're a native German, Austrian or Swiss speaker and fluent in English. French is a plus, not a prerequisite.

  • You're based in a DACH hub: Vienna, Munich, Düsseldorf or Berlin. You're up for frequent travel across the region and to Paris (1–2 days/month at HQ).

  • You're ultra-autonomous, you make decisions fast, and you're not afraid to fall and get back up. You see yourself in the "whatever it takes" mindset.

  • You're not afraid of the phone, the field, or strangers. You actually love all three.

  • You share our values: ambition, collaboration, high standards, optimism, humility — and a real taste for teamwork.

Practical info

  • Location: home-office based in DACH (Vienna, Munich, Düsseldorf or Berlin ideally). At least 1–2 days per quarter at Kraaft HQ in Paris (14 Rue d'Uzès) — covered by Kraaft.

  • Package: competitive, to be discussed based on profile and seniority. 100% uncapped bonuses — hit 150% of your target and you earn 150% of your variable.

  • Equipment: MacBook + company card for travel.

  • Benefits: health insurance, plus all the usual local perks of the country of employment.

  • Working tool: Discord is our virtual office — you stay connected with the whole Kraaft team, even when you're 1,500 km from Paris.

  1. Fit interview with Tom Rey, our CEO (45 min, video call).

  2. Case with two members of the Key Accounts team (Antonio + one AE).

  3. Meet the whole team most probably at the Paris office, with drinks (or orange juice) to get to know each other.
